| Brenz on stage during Kindergarten Graduation. |
I really didn't even realize that Kindergarten Graduation was A Thing, let alone something that would make me highly emotional. Now I'll be prepared for when Graham graduates, I guess. It was wonderful though- Brendan loved his first year of school so much, and it was nice to have such a nice send off.
The day started out as most days do- with the boys being rambunctious and adorable at the same time.

| With Graham, the difference between a tackle and a hug is negligible. |
Brendan worked very hard on his thank you note to his beloved teacher Miss Kline. Man we're gonna miss her. She was awesome, and as you can see she did a pretty good job of teaching him to write!

In the afternoon, there was a ceremony in the auditorium. The kids sang songs and were just generally sweet.
 |
| Brendan singing ferociously. |
 |
| Brendan practicing zen? |
Miss Kline showed a movie the kids had made in the style of a news program about their class. Brendan's role was reporter and it was ridiculously cute. After all the festivities, each kid got an actual diploma, with their picture in it and everything!
Maybe some people might have cried or something stupid like that, I don't really want to comment. After parents pulled it together, we all went to the cafeteria for cookies and exaggerated cool-guy poses.
 |
| Cookie time! |
 |
| Cool guy face time! |
 |
| Jimena's like, really you guys? Come on. |
 |
| Brendan being cool with the two Michaels he is buddies with. |
I even managed to get him to pose with his old Mom.
 |
| Awwww. Even cool guys love their Moms. |
After school was out for the summer, of course we had to have a little family time as well! We went across the street and did a little bowling.

Brendan had a blast, and at one point he even got a strike!
 |
| You'll be relieved to note that cool guy face time isn't over. |
For dinner we went to our favorite place, HUB, formerly known as the pinball restaurant until they cruelly removed all (both) of their pinball tables. They've still got good food and a play area though, so we forgive them.

I had of course picked out some end of school year presents for the big first-grader-to be! I think they went over pretty well.
It was a great day for a great kid. And if my heart is maybe a little bit broken that he's already this old, I'll just keep it to myself.
